IGHZ PAN Researcher co-authored the book on CRISPR/Cas9 technologies


The Springer has published up-to-date compendium of major scientific breakthroughs on human diseases, personalized and regenerative medicine and gene therapy by using CRISPR/Cas9 systems and stem cells to model or treat the human disorders.

The compendium includes a chapter by Dr hab. Paweł Lisowski from IGiHZ PAN on the practical application of CRISPR/Cas9 systems for precise genome editing and human stem cell engineering. The author presents the advantages and limitations of CRISPR/Cas9 technology and methodically dissects practical application of the latest toolbox based on CRISPR/Cas9 systems allowing their precise applications in genetic engineering.  The chapter summarizes state-of-the-art technology for the introduction and correction of DNA sequences together with technological advances on DNA repair pathways manipulation that will be instrumental in the future of human disease modeling and treatment of cancer, inherited and acquired genetic disorders and neurological diseases.
