About the Project
The project brings together research institutions from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia to develop and implement an artificial intelligence (AI)-based approach to improving dairy-cattle health monitoring and mastitis prevention.
The project integrates farm-level data collection, microbiological and laboratory analyses, assessment of dairy-cow health and welfare, and the development of a shared database and an AI-based predictive module. The resulting system is intended to support the prediction, early detection, and prevention of mastitis, contributing to improved animal health, milk quality, and dairy-farm management across the V4 countries.
Project Objectives
The project aims to:
- collect and integrate health, production, environmental, and microbiological data from dairy farms in the participating V4 countries;
- establish a shared database of mastitis-related information;
- develop an AI-based predictive module for mastitis monitoring and prevention;
- facilitate scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange among the participating institutions;
- provide practical training and demonstrate the application of the developed AI system;
- disseminate project results through methodological guidelines, scientific publications, workshops, meetings, and the project website.

Main Project Activities
- The project will include international research meetings, laboratory and research visits, farm-level sampling and analysis, development of the shared project database, development and implementation of the AI predictive module, and a practical workshop demonstrating its application.
- The project will conclude with the preparation of methodological guidelines and scientific publications and the dissemination of the project's scientific and practical outcomes.
Expected Outcomes
- The project is expected to establish a coordinated V4 research framework integrating veterinary medicine, dairy-cattle health monitoring, microbiological analysis, farm-level data collection, and artificial intelligence.
- A major project output will be an AI-supported predictive module designed to assist with mastitis monitoring, prediction, and prevention. The project is expected to contribute to improved animal health, milk quality, and dairy-farm management and to strengthen scientific cooperation among the participating V4 countries.
